Wow what a week. Holidays always throw me off a bit. Zeke fell asleep after a long day at the start of the towns fireworks show.

I thought it would get his attention but he could care less. Kids…lol

We have been trying different foods and he really likes chili so thats cool.

tonight I cooked porkchops, rice and cream of corn hoping to get him to like the corn we shall see as I am off to feed the kids.

How was your week?

Nope…he wasn’t gonna have the corn…he saw it and put his head down.

I snuck in a bite or two…but that was it. He is funny!

And the results are in….Zeke likes them!

Yay for another food he will eat that still fits his GFCF Diet.

I am betting he can’t tell the differance.lol

Because he is such a climber as soon as I am done cooking I shove the griddle into the oven and lock it.

Then a get a towel and wet it down and place it on the stove top to cool down the glass surface.

He has got burned at least twice but continues to wanna climb on the stove.

Safety first!

What is your favorite gfcf breakfast recipe?

Another big step!

So here I thought I had nothing to blog about today…then it happened.

I am in my office/craft room editing wedding photos that are due this next week

and Zeke is in here playing with a Thomas the Train cd case.

Well the paper booklet fell out and the second time it did I asked him if he wanted help.

I put out my hand and he handed me the jewel case. I then said hand me the paper

and he walked over and picked it up and brought it to me!

This is a first for him! He hasn’t done this stuff before.

I told him good job for handing it to me and patted him on the back.

Well it happened again so we did the same thing over. Loved it!

Now I have a piece of tape ready for when it falls out again. lol.

I do have to work after all! :)

Do you have a child or children that aren’t that good at following directions?

This is part of our daily routine. He does this everytime someone lets him in here.

Gotta love him…he sure thinks he is funny. :)

Taken with my phone. :)

Do you have a climber?

It’s all in the hands

Ever since Zeke turned one or two we have been trying to have him sign things since he couldn’t talk.

We actually started signing small things for Kai because he wasn’t talking at 2.5.

Dude took off though when he turned 3 years old and hasn’t stopped talking since.

Isn’t that always the case?  :) So we continued on with Zeke. He didn’t seem as receptive to it.

Usually he will try to sign “More” and “bites” and we are happy.

Tonight my little guy surprised me and after me showing him “again” after throwing him

on the couch like superman on his back he for the first time signed “again” and he did it perfectly.

YAY! I continued to make him sign it each time he wanted another go at the couch

and he did! Once again I am seeing progress and we are stoked at whats left to come!

Did you try using sign language with your child and did it work?

No Fear?

Today was a beautiful day outside with the sky blue with almost zero clouds in sight.

Normally Zeke would book out of the front door as soon as it was opened…but not today.

He just played inside and even passed the open door and didn’t care a bit it was open.

Later I was at my desk checking out Facebook and my emails and I left the door open so

the kids could come in when ever they wanted. Well Zeke was all over that like white on rice.

He loves to climb up my chair, over my back and up to my desk. He also loves to stand right in

front of the computer screen. :)  He loves for me to catch him and while he was up there he just fell

over my shoulder expecting me to be aware he was coming and catch him. Well I did but

he still hit his head a little on the back of the chair. I told him how he needed to make sure I was

looking before pulling a stunt like that again. lol.

So later he climbed up yet again but this time before leaping off the desk he bent down and pushed

me a little like he was saying, ” Hey pay attention woman as I am about to jump!” So I did and he did

and he was happy. Just giggling away.

Good times people…..good times.

Have you ever experienced something along these lines?

Strange I put this to post the next morning and it didn’t so here it is a day late!

What a great day!

The sun was shining. We all got some outside time. We didn’t have any meltdowns just short frustration cries.

Well after Starbucks I gave the grandparents a call to see if they had seen Zeke’s favorite train Gordon.

They indeed had and he was sitting on their table just waiting for us to retrieve him.

It was already 9:30 but they said to come on up to Castle Rock and that they would be awake for a few minutes still.

We made the drive and when we got there they invited us in. Well 20 mins turned into an hour but that’s no surprise. lol

Zeke was happy to have Gordon back in his grip but surprisingly put him down for other metal cars and trucks. Wow!

We were talking about his diet and his improvements and he said Go go in front of them. They were happy.

Then I asked him since he had a car in his hand what does the car say? Then I said beep beep. Right away he said beep beep for the first time!

We were all amazed and happy and he said it again. I told him good job and gave him a pat on the back. He went off to play more.

Each little step of progress feels so good and it’s so exciting! Can’t wait for more! :)

Doing it almost by himself!

Over a year ago I had gotten Zeke to start feeding himself.

He only did it for a week probably…then we must have got lazy and started to feed him again.

Well I have decided the lil’ guy needs to feed himself. I know he can do it he is a bright kid.

So tonight I made baked chicken and rice. I cut up the chicken and made a rice bowl for everyone.

I grabbed his hand and helped him get his food on the spoon and led it to his mouth.

Then I decided to make him do more by himself. Each time he wanted me to do it and would push me

when I asked if he wanted a bite. I pushed his hand toward the spoon and said you do it.

He grabbed the spoon and fed himself but each time would put the spoon back in the bowl and let go.

Well we finished his food and he fed himself 90% of it. That’s a great start! Yay!

We each cheered for each bite he took and he liked that. :)

It’s been a great day!

When did your child learn to feed themself?
